I paid £500 for a week in costa brava with my ex who is now not going?

as i let her book the holiday she became the lead passenger. i have contacted the holiday company to change her name as a friend is coming with me instead but they said that the name change has to be made by the lead passenger.as i have no possible contact with my ex i cannot get this done. i paid 4 the holiday but cant get this sorted, i dont want my mate to have to pay for his booking when ive already everything paid 4. has any1 any ideas on how to get round this.

Go to the credit card or bank which you paid from and slip the word fraud (e.g. i feel this may be fraud etc) or some kind of other word to hint that you feel unfairly charged in this manner and they will jump to help you. You may even want to go to the travel company and warn them first that you are going to the bank or credit card to see if you could reclaim charges for services not rendered. If you can, say that you'll stop payment. I know its not classic fraud and you may feel a bit squeamish about doing this especially because it sounds like you still want to go but do not let your friend pay for something you have already paid for. As long as your name is on the billing end of things then you have all the legal right to be the lead or not the lead on anything you want. I also know this tact may be a little to American for you Brits but living in London last summer I had to practically push my friend into the bank to handle something like this and in the end she couldn't be happier. So even if you only use this advice as a last ditch effort still use and don't go down with out a fight.  Good luck.

I know this is cheesy but maybe trying to use a female friend to impersonate your ex if you know enough of the information used to book it?? Hey in this complicated world of technology sometimes the most basic 'cartoon-y' solution works

why dont you get somebody else to ask your ex for you. but i had name change done last year when i went to dubai because my dad fell ill so i took a freind instead and they hadnt asked for my dads consent. why dont try resoning with the travel agents and tell them the situation and am sure they will understand. good luck to you anyway.
