  1. Walls do not generally need primer and you never put PVA under paint.

You don't say what paint was on there or if it was a gloss or matt finish or what paint you applied.  The only thing I can think of is you poorly applied a matt paint over a gloss surface or there was polish or something on the wall or you got an old tin of paint from the garage that a frost had got to?

If you are painting over a shiny surface lightly key first with a P180 or P120 grade paper.  Previous damp would cause staining not crazing of your new paint.

Rub down, apply two coats of Dulux vinyl matt.

  2. was there wallpaper on the wall before? the reason i ask is if you leave wallpaper paste on the walls and then paint it will crack like you say fine crazy cracks. even if there was paste on the walls if you give it another coat it should cover and it wont appear again.

ps i am a leeds united fan and we dont have a 15 point defecit this year so i will chant from the terraces with certainty that we are super leeds united and we are going up. i hope you are not supporting the other united (scumbags) lol

    hope i have helped

ps put a tenner on leeds united to win league one, you can get 5to1 with very little chance to loose (my oppinion), nice little earner even if you are batting for the other side.

  3. as a liverpool fan i hope its leeds utd and not the other lot . to answer the question it could be 1 of 2 things , both are dependant on the surface you painted onto , was there a fine white powder on the surface of the wall? if there was this is called DISTEMPER its an old treatment that decoraters used and is a real pain , it puts a barrier between the surface and the paint and needs to be removed before painting can begin , alternativly if it was directly on to  bare plaster the time tested practice of putting a diluted solution of 50/50 water and emulsion is usually adequate but on the odd occasion a pva mix is required to seal the surface  hope this helps

  4. Yes I think treatment would work, and when you apply the paint do two thin coats.

  5. Yes rub it down and give it a coat of diluted with water PVA let it dry well then paint it. Will be fine.

  6. Arsenal!!--- That's punishment for supporting Unt.---!!!Arsenal

  7. Most thing need a coat of primer first.

  8. Don't apply the paint too thick - this can also happen if you lag the paint on in hope of just doing one coat but as soon as it dries you get fine crazing. Better off with several thin coats (use a roller?). No harm in sealing in the wall as previously stated but make sure you don't over do the paint.

  9. most walls need primed to keep the paint from messing up
