Yes, I already asked this question, but I wanted to change it up a little and add more details.

I finished painting my room dark purple, because I thought my room could use some redecorating. I got sick of my baby blue walls :/. Anyway, I wanted my room to have like, a gothic.. vampire theme kinda thing, but my furniture is like, cream coloured. I don't know if this will be a problem or not.

I wanted some ideas of how I can make black accessories and things like that work with my furniture. I'm going to buy a new lamp, and new bedding, probably in black. I don't want to repaint or stain my furniture because I like my furniture, I think its kind of cute, haha :).

Here is a picture of my room:

  1. if you dont want to paint or stain, i think the best thing you could do would be to incorporate a cream color in with your goth theme - it might actually give a nice contrast to the dark purple and the black, and keep your room from looking too dark and gloomy

  2. For one you can't be cute and gothic at the same time.  If you want to have a goth room then you need to get rid of the white/cream furniture or paint it.  Perhaps red.  then add some accent colors like silver or black or something that will pop.  If your really not into the gothic look perhaps should go towards the india look more.  This is very bold colors and is really dark, but also gives you a wider option.  The Purple is a great starting point and you can add orange/red/and all different colors for this.

  3. i think its cool to have a gothic theme, but maybe you need some pop colors in there, so it doesn't look too dark.  you could also always paint your furniture other colors, like black - which could look very modern and stylish.  also, think about red as pop colors for your accessories?! can go great with your gothic theme.  here is a link for thought

  4. this is weird

  5. picture is no longer available. but you might want to look at some thrift stores or flee markets and pick up a couple of small black top tables to put lamps on, maybe put red bulbs in them. If you get black bedding, get a couple of red pillows to toss on the bed. maybe a red and black beanbag or purple and black, which ever you perfer.having the creme furniture is probably a plus without it the room would be WAY to dark. You could also either make or buy a small shelf to put all of your gothic/vampire stuff on.Even thou I'm not a gothic kinda person but to each his own.Hope you find what you're looking for....good luck

  6. I know you said you didn't want to pain the furniture, but how about you just do a little detailing in a black gray, in the knoocks and cranies. Like a swept away trim.

Go with high quality pearl gray satin sheets. And then use black decrative pillows as your black accent. That way it still gives you the goth thing, but keeps the room not to dark , good luck.

  7. i cant see the picture, but maybe put in some black bean bags and a black lamp shade just little things to jazz it up.

  8. Try a black bookcase, or black fabric coverings or pillows on your white furniture.

Also, a few old looking vampire/gothic novels thrown in the bookcase won't hurt.

  9. No pix available... I'll wing it!  Purple walls, cream furniture and some black accessories will work, okay. I would also include a lighter shade of purple, lavender in the accessory mix.
