I pierced my ear yesterday, how should I take care of it afterwards to prevent infection?

Yesterday, I decided to pierce my ear, so I used a safety pin and an earring. I used hydrogen pyroxide so clean off everything and then i cleaned it off afterwards with hydrogen pyroxide. I ended up piercing my ear in two spots. What should I do to keep it clean, use rubbing alcohol on it? BTW, I know it's stupid to do this, but I pierced a couple of things by myself and it didn't become infected. I just want to make sure. THANKS!

  1. You can use rubbing alcohol but it hurts a lot especially you just have your ear pierced. Go buy a bottle of solution that made just for piercing and clear the area 2 to 3 times a day or as direction. You can buy the solution at the jewelery stores that does piercing(not fine jewelery stores). They are only $8 for a big bottle. I have over 13 piercings and I didn't get infected. Don't take cut the new piercings for at least  2 to 3 months depends on the location. Hope it helps :)

  2. rubbing alcohol works

  3. Don't use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. Neither of them are for puncture wounds. They will just dry out your piercing causing problems. Your best thing to use would be warm sea salt soaks(not table salt). The second best option in my opinion is just unscented anti-bacterial soap. Dial is perfect however I have found it tends to dry my piercings out if I use it to frequently

  4. The best thing to clean a piercing with is Bactine. It comes in a white and green bottle. Don't clean the area with hydrogen peroxide because that will make the hole take longer to heal.

  5. putting any type of disinfectant like rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide should do the trick at keeping it clean...
