I plan on flying to Rome Italy in Sept. which is the best air port to fly into that is near the center of Rome

Either of the airports is about the same - from Ciampino there's a short bus ride to the airport train station to get to Roma Termini station. From Fiumicino just follow the signs in the terminal to reach the train.

I'm not sure what you'd consider fairly priced. The Accademia is very close to Trevi fountain and reasonably inexpensive, but there are lots of choices. You might consider staying near Roma Termini station - then you have direct access to the metro lines and the bus lines.

There are two airports in Rome and one is Flumico and the other is Campiono Flumico only does international flights so if you are flying from the states most likely you will fly into this one unless you have some weird connection someplace. Campiono airport only has smaller planes and usually fly thoughout the EU only for the most part. The two airports are not that from from each other either. For hotels I usually use www.selectitaly.com they have lots of hotels and most of them are cheap. I live in Italy and am from the states and have flown back and forth several times and have never flown into campiono and I use that website all the time. I love flying britishairways they have been really cheap latly too. Then have lots of leg room compared to other carriers I've flown on. Hope this helps.

Instead of worrying about the airport, choose the airline that will give you the best service. Let them choose the airport. If you are going to stay in a hotel near the city centre, it does not matter how far the airport is from the city centre.
