I plan on going on a cruise in Sept. Will I need a passport and where can i get one if I do? For how much?

I been on a cruise before a couple years ago but passports werent needed. I recentl heard they may have changed that so I dont know how to get a passport or what i need for one. Can anyone help?

  1. I think that it depends on where you are going, but I do know that you must have one on all Caribbean cruises. There is a certain government office you get them at. It may be the DMV. They are about $100, and you also need to get on the ball. I know someone that couldn't get their's for 6 months!


  2. Yes -- you will need a passport.

    Unless you are not visiting any foreign countries on your cruise.  For example, if your cruise leaves one country and only visit ports in the same country.

  3. If you are going out of the U.S. (except to Canada by land) you will need a passport.
