  2. Hi, you don't need your passport, the ferry companies will accept your driving licence as proof of ID and there is no passport control at any point on the journey. You will not even be aware of crossing the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic.

    Obviously there is no passport control between Scotland and Northern Ireland as they are both part of the UK.

  5. The short answer is yes, you will need your passport as you are traveling into a foreign country, try sailing across to Northern Ireland then drive over the border into the south, also bear in mind you will need to change money as they use the Euro in the south.
