  1. So you will be young when you want to come and I guess you will have a career. Now that depends on what sort of work you will want and also what sort of weather you want to be in. Do you want coastal or out back. There are 100 s of town to choose from . Australia is a very big country The town sizes vary such a lot . So really your question could have thousands of answers. heres a few suggestions Kunnanarra or Katherine in the tropics of northern territory. Broome or Esperance in western Australia. Mildura .or Euchca. in  VictoriaThe list goes on to 100s or thousands .

  2. Before you ever think of moving to Australia I recommend to visit this country before and find out if you like its people and so forth.

Then you need a work permit, work skills.

So you should come over for a look and travel through the country. In this way you might find a place you really like and which you can aim for.

  3. I guess it depends really on what experience you are looking for. Alice Springs is not exactly a small town, but it is a small city in the central of Australia. It is very hot and dry, but it would give you a brilliant Australian experience. Otherwise, there are small towns across all states (like, between 10  - 1000 people). It depends on the climate you want as to which state you would go to. If you want to work in a really small town, you really need to farm - there are not a lot of other jobs to be done in the smaller towns.

  4. Depending on what your career choice is.

This is because different people are required in different towns for different types of jobs. The only jobs that would be in demand everywhere would be medical, other than that it depends on the industries in that area.

Having said all that...Exmouth, in WA

  5. Adelaide.

altho, if i were u, i'd stay in america, australia sucks..

  6. Depends on your definition of small town. Like 2000 people small town? Depends on what you do. Most small towns work on demand for skill. Mining, engineering etc is good skill to have for small remote towns in Australia. There are hundreds, what kind of climate do you want? Really really hot= central QLD, NT or cold Tas, parts of Victoria. How remote? a lot of smaller towns are quite remote, so remember to look where the local supermarket is. My sister lives in small town in Central QLD and the local supermarket is about 4hr away.

  7. Jennifer h - Mildura and Echuca are in Victoria, which might be an indication of hte accuracy of her reply.

You need to get work skills IN A SCARCE PROFESSION OR TRADE before you come. Small towns can be fun, but they can be suffocating.  What kind of work will you be doing? There may not be requirements for every trade/profession in every place.  I'd agree that a holiday first would be good- I work with someone whose wife was the one with the job skills that got them here. They'd been here for 2 holidays before they decided that this was the place for them.
