  1. There will probably be fewer kids, but it is also hurricane season.  That means you may end up missing some of your ports, or have substitute ports, so that the ship can avoid the storm.

  2. Thats gonna be hurricane season, you could get really unlucky on that cruise.

  3. We took a Carnival Cruise from Galveston to Mexico ( and other destinations on the way) during the 1st week of September in 2007.

It was fantastic and I'd recomend it to anybody! The evenings are a little bit cooler, but i liked that.

If there is a hurricane, Carnival will refund/replace your trip. So, no worries there.

You should go! It;s the perfect time. Much less crowded  than during the peak of the summer season!

    Enjoy!

  4. You definately run the risk of a hurricaine but I have taken 3 cruises in August and have yet run into one. I wouldnt chnage your plans but be aware of the possibility. The ships generally will change thier route if the storm is bad enough

  5. I have only two words to say...Hurricane Katrina...hit ground August 28th. We have had two years of little to no hurricane activity so if that trend continues then you will make out well as you will get hurricane season prices without the hurricane, but if not there is no way to see how the cruise turns out. They will avoid the hurricane but you will inevitably have rough seas. Sorry and good luck.
