  1. Hi, I'm from Panama.

As this guys told you, 50% (in Panama city it could be 60%) of population speaks english.

  2. no relax you can visit several places in panama, when i walk through the city i find people who don't know speak spanish but bear in mind that the spanish is important if you want to talk with Panamanian on the streets so i advice you to buy a travel guide, have a nice trip in our country

  3. No,you should be fine. Many people, some say as much as 50%, in Panama speak some English. That doesn't neccessarily excuse you from learning/speaking some Spanish though. Panama is a beautiful, vibrant country with a lot of history with much to  see and do.Enjoy your trip and feel free to email me(see my profile page) if you have any other questions.I try to get to Panama and Central America at least two or three times a year.

  4. Like any other country you are at risk if you are ovbiously foreigner.  Be careful with where you go, find out what are the places you should not go to, what are the  prices you should pay for a cab.  Have a travel plan on where to go and things like that....Find out what people wear and dont dress like a tourist.  Shorts and flower shirts wont look very good, they will know and some bad people (like all countries have) might nsee you as a prey.
