I planted too kinds of potato eyes but the mounds that have red potato eyes have not gotten a plant yet

is this suppose to happen ? & if not what does it mean.

If you planted eyes from potatoes you purchased to eat, they may have been treated to prevent them from sprouting. If you bought these from a garden center and it's been more than a couple weeks, ask for a refund.

Buy seed potatoes at the garden supply store if you want to be sure to get sprouts and plants.
