I am 5'7'' and weigh at 145 pounds and I play offensive gaurd and defensive tackle/end. I am quite skinny and think that I'll need to be heavier to be more effective for the upcoming season. What should I do to be heavier so I can can apply more power in football? What should I do when not playing so I can be more buff? We lift weights but I also want to know other exercises I could do and what to eat.

  1. first thing is no matter how much you eat you should not be a lineman offensive or defensive but you want things with lots of protein start drinking protein shakes and eat the protein bars but really what ever level of football you are at you are way undersize and should think of a differant position to play

  2. I'm currently a sophomore lineman and what I do is I try to eat 4-5 meals a day to keep weight. You want to do alot of power lifts like squats and bench. You should do each around once or twice a week. You should buy a protein drink because my coaches always say that your workout only builds half your muscles and the other half if built in what you drink and eat with 45 minutes of your workout. You want your meals to be high in protein and carbs. Also make sure to do some jump rope because you don't just want to be powerful you want to be agile to.

  3. eat on a 2000 calorie a day diet! And i mean good calories not mcdonalds cause one meal at mcdonalds is like 2000 calories already, and they are bad calories. so eat lots of fruits and veggies and meat for protein, along with lifting and you will be ready!

p.s. this is from my boyfriend not me haha

  4. Eat a double quarter pounder and retire

  5. Pump iron, try getting a lot of running in the beginning
