I have played on tier one teams, and older teams etc... recently i tried out for a summer team that is for high schoolers. Last year i was in 7th grade (going into 8th) and made it as an alternate so this year going into 9th grade i expected to make it especially since there were only about 11 people at tryouts ( you usually need at-least 15 on a team) but i made it as an alternate again! i was told i am the 1st alternate so i get called first if i am needed out of all the alternates. I dont know wat to do, or how to handle it. I can think of it as well i will try my hardest to get played but it just pisses me off and doesn't make any sense... i need a way to summarize it in a positive way

thanks*

  1. be like, the coach really thought I was good, but wanted more experienced players on the team, but still decided to keep me in case someone went down, because I was talented, but not experienced enough, or somehting like that

  2. What is means is that the coach had a bunch of vet players who he told not to show up because they would have a spot kept for them.

If it's for a summer team for high schoolers, age has a lot to do with it. the coach is going to go with his older, stronger (you really hit more physical maturity in 10th- 11th grade) and more experienced players.

Once you grow and mature more (both physically and mentally) you'll make the team.
