I play loud metal and want to record it with a video camera, what is the best I can get from wal-mart?

Any Sony miniDV tape camcorder that has a menu selection that lets you do audio either Normal or Low... for loud sounds, the gain needs to be Low.

Check the DCR-HC28. I have no idea if WalMart carries it. Most other low-end camcorders do not have any mic gain control. Manual audio control is better, but the cheapest camcorders that do that are the Canon HV20 and Sony HDR-HC7.
