Not at this point in your game. With a 17 handicap you don't yet have a repeatable, accomplished golf swing. You could buy the clubs now and take advantage of the bargain but leave them home.

No. Get game improving irons til your index is below ten, then get Nike blades. It will be a self rewarding experience and great for your ego.

if your young and still learning and refining your swing,these will force you to be more accurate,by giving you more feedback from impact,good or bad.

if your just a once a weekend guy ,no,get some game improvement irons,ie pings,calaway,cobra

they are good clubs,its the golf swing ,not the golf club.

a proper shaft is the most important factor though,that's the engine of the club.

Well one of two things will happen...

1.  The clubs will be much less forgiving, being a 17 hadicap i would suggest you fine tune your game a bit more till you're a single digit hadicap at least before thinking about blades

2.  It will force your to improve your game, you'll see where you need improvement, it will be frustrating at first.

I will agree with Mike T, they are much less forgiving but by this it will help you strike the ball better in the long run.

My view, you might aswell start now, why not??... Your off 17 and you want to become better... Give it ago

Would you still like to enjoy your 18 holes of golf? Not even some of the professional golfers use blades. People get caught up thinking blades will 'improve' their game... if anything your 17 handicap which you have achieved will soon become a 27.

If you are looking at improving your handicap I would suggest practicing your short game.
