  1. I'd advice going to see a physio, or getting it x-rayed.

My friend had the same problem, but decided to play anyway - now he's out at least until the end of the season.

    Good luck whatever you do.

  2. If you have trouble walking down stairs, it could be a torn medial meniscus, and a torn lateral meniscus if it hurts when you walk upstairs.

  3. Ask a doctor for some advice  mate. And also ask your coach to help you improve your tackling teqnique incase you are tackling wrong and this is the cause. If this keeps on happening afterwards, Just take a break from rugby for a while.

  4. you better get it sorted because tackling is one of the most important tools of rugby, you dnt want to be known as the minute man do you?tackle one person then your off the feild cause your knee has given out again! go see a specialist im sure it can be fixed good luck bro!!

  5. maybe check with a doctor to make sure it's not something worse like an injury. If it's not, and just for some weird reason, i have some friends who leap into tackles. It also depends on which knee hurts more, you can change shoulders and therefore knee to use dominantly. You may not be able to make any huge hits, but in the tackles, you can try to leap for impact, so when you make the hit, your feet aren't fully on the ground, so nothing will happen to your knee, then when they're wrapped up you can get back fully on your feet to lift them up or whatever you like to do. If it still hurts, leap all the way, wrap up their thighs and leave your feet completely to avoid hurting your knee.

  6. I would advise you seeing a sports doctor, because it sounds as if you may have ruptured your ACL, and you cant play with that, you need to get it surgically repaired
