  1. drop your shoulder as you are going into your tackle.. try to tackle there thigh.  if all  else fails go for the good old ankle tap..it takes them off balance. And pratice pratice pratice.

  2. Move a days most wings are big blokes and they can tackle a opponet front on, if you are not big rather tackle your opponent from the side or from behind. Just go in low {ankles} and you will for sure stop your opponent. Just remember tackling is all about timing, if you get your timing right then your problem is solved.

Good luck with your next game and kick some butt

  3. I play flanker so this is slightly different for me but when i have to make an important tackle i just make sure to  hit them  around the waist with my shoulder and then get e good grip or slide down their legs.

    Good luck!!!

  4. Alright, I play 2nd Row Lock (#4) so it's slightly different for me. However, When you go to make a tackle, try to set your feet so you have a burst of power going in to it.

Instead of trying to wrap your arms first, drive with your legs and shoulder, and form a wrap from there, around the waist or legs.

Wings don't tend to be that strong so you need to learn to put yourself in a position where you can use what you've got.

If you've got a shoulder in there, it stunts your opponents motion slightly and gives you a bit more time to try and wrap them up.

If you still can't get it, I have an extremely helpful drill for you, but it can be painful.

Get on your knees, set your legs apart slightly to give more power. Have a player continuously run at you, with the ball. Make sure they come towards you, or just off to the side. While you're on your knees, you learn to use your power to drive your shoulder in to them and wrap your arms around.

Have them come in low, and relatively fast. This will train your quickness in making a tackle, and will also help you wrap better.

The object of the drill is for your opponent to run at you, and for you to tackle them, while on your knees.

If you can drive them backwards, your doing a good job. However, the main goal is just to wrap and bring them down. This is generally a drill I use with coaching my pack, so use with caution; your body may not be up to handling the same beating as someone twice your weight.

  5. Use violence, punch, kick and stamp if you can get away with it. Everyone i've ever played with does
