Question:

I play soccer and i need to be able to run faster and improve my game what might you suggest

im 14 and going to be a freshmen and im going to be trying out for a private soccer team in november well i really need to get faster, improve my jugguling shot placment and chipping how do you thing i can improve these. ps. i have no idea why try outs are in november but its year round play.

  1. speed and endorance-go to the feilds around your house and run laps and do suicides(goalline-6, back, goalline-18, back, goalline- half, back... run laps, go to the school and run the track)

    juggling- can you pick the ball up with your feet? if you can... try to do 1, then do like 2 and work your way up.

    shot placement- all you can do is go to the feilds(bring a freind to play goalie) and shoot on them. do you have a kick wall? or like a brick wall that isnt a house near you? if you do, get chalk and draw like a box that you want to try to hit.(remember to wipe the chalk off when your done)

    chipping- thats like passing right? well if it is you can find a wall and just pass the ball. the good thing is that the ball comes right back and you can practice trapping.

    trapping- you can throw the ball against a wall (if you need to practice trapping) or you could have a friend throw the ball to you like a throw in.

  2. improve your running the way runners do... run! go to a track and run a few miles, it builds the endurance to play your best during a game.

  3. If you want to be faster and have a gym to go to, I would suggest running in a lap pool. Run maybe 10-15 laps as fast as you can in the water a couple times a week ( it does feel awkward ); it really improves leg strength and speed.

  4. practice makes perfect.
