  1. I had the same problem. Make sure your not leaving your rackets in your car, at times the temp. in you car can reach over 100 degrees, which put tremendous stress on them.

As for the stringing machine, i was so fed up with my strings breaking that i bought a drop weight stringer (the least expensive type).  And it works great it takes less than an hour, so its great to be able to string my racket over night when i break it.

heres a link to some good ones

My advice is to get a drop weight stringer, the electrical ones have to be recalibrated every once in awhile.  I would get one with 4 mounts as opposed to 2.

    Good luck

  2. This is normal for someone like to you since you are playing a lot of tennis.  If your NTRP rating is more than 3.0 I would recommend you go up 1 level and try Multifilament, an upgrade to the synthetic gut.  It more durable than synthetic gut yet it will still have same feel and touch on the ball. It will also have more spins too. However it comes with a higher price.  If you are breaking Multifilament like synthetic gut, then level 3 is Polyester. It is the most durable string available in the market, most pros are using this type of strings.

You can start stringing your own racquet with machine as low as 200-300 bucks to start. I worked with 2 machines, one is Ektelon which is about 300$ and Babolat Star 5 $3000 :D.

  3. You shouldn't really have to restring it that often. If you're playing a lot, maybe every 1-2 months. If you're not playing that much, then I would say every 4-6 months. Definitely at least twice a year.

I recommend getting higher quality strings, maybe $30 ones. They will last longer and will probably give you better quality hits.

It depends on your level and racket, but I recommend getting it strung at 60-65 tension (that's what I use).

If you're unsure about anything, ask your coach or a professional who can give you details about particular strings.

  4. well you can get the machines cheap on the net or on ebay. There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with oyur racket though :)

  5. Yes its normal and nothing is wrong with your racket. If you want to buy a string machine go to www.tenniswarehouse.com and check how much it cost. I think its a good idea it will save you money and time. But you might want to buy some durable strings like luxilion.

  6. Have your racquet checked by a local tennis club owner to see if there are any defects in the frame or if the racquet is fake. That happened to me. If not, try buying some durability strings rather than performance.

Also, if you go to a tennis clinic, club, league, etc... most likely the coach/owner of the club will string your racquet for free if you come frequently.
