I don't know what to do !

Keep playing and risk to hurt it more?

Or, don't keep playing and now be able to go try out for the provincial team?! :(

  1. Really depends how bad you hurt it. I hurt my finger about 2 or 3 years ago and didn't let it heal and now it's almost a useless pointer (hard to bend, gets arthritis, etc.). So if tryouts are coming up and the injury wasn't something super serious, I would say try out and then explain to whoever runs the team that you really do need to heal but didn't want to miss tryouts. I'd say wait at least a week and a half to two weeks before jumping back in it even though doctors would say longer. You may not have a choice though if you try playing and it hurts too much. I can't really say I regret not letting my fingers heal because that would have been 2-3 weeks of a season lost and I'm a fiend for volleyball so feel it out. I would recommend the rest for it after tryouts definitely but only you can judge how bad it really is as far as the pain goes. Good luck and be careful!

  2. I'm in hockey, as well as volleyball to! You DEFIANTLY should not keep playing until it is healed. If you continue to play, you will most certainly hurt it more. Especially with volleyball which is using most of your arms.

If your coach for volleyball is going to be talking about some techniques, then you should probably go to the practice but don't do anything to active with your arm.

  3. suck it up and push through the pain.

  4. No, stop now, go see a doctor, and do as the doctor says.

If it's a simple sprain in your arm, you will be okay in a few months.  It's better to miss one season than keep on playing while risking to make your injury more serious.

Besides, with a sprained arm, you won't be able play well either.

Your health comes first no matter what!
