I'm 6'2 and a sophomore in a AAA school in North Carolina. My club team plays in the highest division and is one of the best in the state, but i am wondering how to really get noticed from D1 college scouts out there.

  1. what club in norcal do you play for?

  2. Try to get a video made of yourself to send to the college scouts. I know Australian players would do that in the past and it worked for them.

  3. go to ncaastudent.org and read. Also download

    http://www.ncaastudent.org/NCAA_Guide.pd...

And go to https://web1.ncaa.org/eligibilitycenter/... and start doing the things they say to do.

also start video taping your games.

if your club team is good and goes to nationals, it is very likely that over 100 college coaches/scouts will be walking around.

also get in contact with any schools you really want to go to.

many schools have a recruitment form and other info on their websites.

  4. I am not in high school but just be your self and play your heart out.

  5. Hey try writing some big corporations that give scholarships

in your area, U have LabCorp...they do that.

Send in your name and address, school and let them know how good you are.

  6. What position do you play?  Focusing on your defense and knowing your spots on the court in the backrow is obviously always fundamental - but not always evident in high school.  It can also show you do your homework on the the opposing hitters/setters.

As a setter, practice versatility - getting into position and picking your spots (and picking apart the opposite block by mixing it up with back sets, quicks, etc).

As an outside hitter, adopting an offspeed swing and knowing how to "tool" the blocks are very noticeable.  Develop your ability to hit from backrow/10-ft.  - shows versatility, as well.

Make sure your serve is consistent - though, pulling out a killer jump serve/floater out of nowhere helps.

Back when I was in high school, I knew that prospects would start to compile highlight videos for scouts early on - perhaps have someone at your club or your parents can do this.  Though, with digital media today - not sure how relevant this is.

Hope this helps - Good luck and have fun!

  7. if you want to get noticed i would try to wear somthing that brings attention to you but if you can't do that then just try to go for everything and hustle to the ball and never let it drop
