  1. Does that indication remain on after the computer has been powered up for a while?

I see this on my Dell occasionally but it only happens immediately after start-up. For some reason, it takes a moment for the battery monitoring program to determine the battery's charge state. During that time, it won't apply any charge to the battery.

A few moments after start-up, the battery indicator will show "Plugged in (charging)" along with the percentage of charge or it will show "Plugged in (100% charged)"

  2. For plugged in, not charging issues. First remove the battery and put it back in to the same place and check whether its doing the same thing. Then you can try to update the BIOS from www.support.dell.com. If that doesn't work out you may have to get a replacement battery

  3. Hi A&F

First thing to do is remove the battery completely. Now plug in your adaptor and see if the computer works. If it does , then the battery is defective and needs to be replaced.

  4. plz change ur charger and battery before ur hardwares get damaged
