I plugged my ipod shuffle usb dock in to head unit???

Question

it's a kenwood mp535u i try to hook my ipod shuffle up through the usb port and now i have no sound in my car at all... idk if it's i messed up the software or what. i check all the wires and everything and the RCA output from the receiver isn't producing and voltage or amps....can anyone help me??? idk if it's a software problem or what...

i don't know about you specific radio but some radios must be turned off, then the IPod can be plugged in (not while the radio is on)
