I posted information about my family on a forum years ago and they found it... what can I tell them?

I posted personal information (full names) about my family on a forum a couple of years ago and my cousin found it.. he emailed me and my other cousins about it and I don't know what to do. The forum doesn't allow login any longer. I don't want to tell everyone it was me. Should I give them an excuse (if so what can I say) or tell them the truth?

  1. The truth is always best.  I would be interested about the post. If you gave closed info than maybe you've hurt someone. Did you embarrass them or do they feel betrayed? Some things to think about next time.
