I posted some messages in public Yahoo groups that I want to have erased. This is very important for me.?

When I was new in posting on Yahoo groups, I posted some messages that involve private medical information of a family memeber. Those messages come up when I Yahoo or Google my name. I contacted the group moderators many times asking to erase those messages and they never responded. I also contacted Yahoo, no response. I want that info erased. What can I do?

Michael is right to a point but he didn't address the fact that once the search engines have indexed the messages, there are cached copies that are accessible even when the originals have been removed.  There's nothing you can do about it unfortunately.

It's a lesson we all learn.

You can delete those messages, but you need to be logged in as the same member of the Yahoo Group that the messages were posted under.  When you are a member of the Group under the same login name from which you sent the mesasage(s) in question, go to the Group's web page and click on Messages on the left-hand side.  You can then use the Search box to search for your messages.  When you've found the message you want to erase, click on its Subject line to bring up the message.  If the message was sent by the same login name you're signed in under, then just above the content of the message will be links to Reply or Forward or Delete.  Click on the Delete link.  Once you've confirmed that you want to delete this message, it will be erased.  If necessary, repeat the searching etc. until you've deleted all the messages in question.

the archives must be open- locate that post with in those archives- click it open-  you will see 'Reply | Forward | Delete'

click the delete- another page will come up and click the blue OK on the right-

often once you delete it, it wont again be found on a search once it's been refreshed or updated
