  1. Practice doesn't make better, especially if you are just practicing the same mistakes over and over. In fact, at that point, practice make worse.

Get a lesson or 2 from a PGA pro, you'll be glad that you did.

  2. There are so many components in the game of golf alone. The components include driving, fairway wood/iron shot, chipping, pitching, bunker shot and putting, to name just a few.

Then there is the golf equipment package and golf accessories to go with the game. These should then match your physical attributes like your strength, club grip size, etc. Golf clubs come in various sizes, types, measurements & shapes. Some clubs may be too heavy for you (e.g swing weights of D1, D2, D3, etc), Or too light (D0, C9, C8, C7, etc).

Then, consult your local golf pro for his further input on your applicable needs in terms of your golf swing, putting strokes, and choice of equipment suitable for you, etc, both 'off' and 'on' the golf course.  For all you know, you may be having particular 'bad habits' in your swing that really need to corrected. Only then you go on practising on your your newly acquired tips to arrive at the skills required to improve on your game. Good luck!

  3. Even though you are practicing all the time, you may not be practicing right.  Contrary to popular belief, hitting more golf balls is not always the answer.  It can actually ingrain bad habits more than make you better.

If I was you, I'd follow these easy tips: (1) imagine hitting each shot like you were out on the course; (2) use your pre-shot routine with each range ball; (3) limit the balls you hit to a small bag and really concentrate on working on one facet of your swing at a time.

Following these tips should really help you out.

  4. When you play on golf course... see, where you actually can save your strokes... if that happened many times... then it should be your weakness.... practice more on your weakness... not what you like to practice.

  5. Your practicing  the same bad swing! If you don't change something it will not change by itself

  6. You need to go to a Pro, and take some golf lessons, he will help with your swing.

  7. Read some Bob Rotella books

    - he is a sports psychologist.

Maybe the problem is in your head.  After reading his books, my game saw drastic improvement.

    HIS BOOKS:

    "Putting out of your Mind"

"The Golfers Mind:  Play to Play Great"

    Check 'em out!

  8. Hitting tons of golf balls isn't always going to make you better. It's better to get quality practice sessions in, rather than just hitting 4 buckets of balls. If you're having trouble you probably should try and get some lessons, and then work on what the pro tells you to do. Plus, short game is the most important part, so if you're not practicing that, then you aren't going to improve. The more you practice your putting and chipping, the better you are going to become.

  9. Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent.  Seek help from an accomplished golfer.

  10. The question is are you practicing properly?  If not, that is why you're not getting better.  If you do well at the range, but it doesn't carry over to the course, then you are not alone.  You haven't stated if it is a particular part of your game that needs improvement or if it is an overall thing.  There must be a part of your game that you consider a strength.  I've been playing for about 10 years and my strength is my short game.  I don't care what I do off the tee, I've made par all sorts of ways.  Your short game will save you more times than not.  Don't be afraid to make a bogey.  Just eliminate the doubles and triples.  You'll see how your scores go down.  Getting some lessons may help.

  11. Practicing the same old bad habits will not help your game. Take some lessons.

  12. All the above are good answers.  Think of it this way.  You have some basic flaws in your swing and don't really know exactly what they are.  As such all you're accomplishing when you go to the range is practising those same flaws.  You need lessons from a good teaching pro.  He'll look at your swing, show you how to make adjustments and monitor your progress.  Try signing up for a set of four lessons to start.  If you're close to where you should be, four lessons should do the trick.  If you're completely off track, you likely would need more than four.

  13. you may not be practicing the right way, just as there is a correct way to play thre is also a correct way to practice.  I would suggest finding a pro and getting a lesson or three and follow his/her drills they offer, as well as picking up a book call the game before the game, it is an excellent book about practice.

  14. Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

You need to go a pro, get your game evaluated, and have him give you some drills to work on your specific weaknesses.

  15. You haven't mentioned anything specific about what's wrong with your game.

Practicing for the sake of practice may not get you anywhere. But focusing on specific elements of the game with the realization of what is going wrong will help.
