The Argentine international has given weight to colletive triumphs with La Blaugrana instead of enjoying individual accolades for himself.

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s Lionel Messi made it very clear that he is focused on helping La Blaugrana gain success instead of concentrating on improving his own stats.
Considered as one of the greatest football players of all time, the Barca number 10 is tipped to be among the favourites to win the FIFA Ballon d’Or this year. If the Argentine does win the coveted award, it will be his fourth consecutive year that he will
win the prestigious Golden Ball.
Last season was considered his most successful year in football in terms of individual performance, with the forward expected to break a few more records in this campaign as well.
However, the highest scorer in Barcelona’s history has stressed that he is not interested in winning anything for his own self. The attacker firmly established that success for the Azulgrana is his main priority at the moment.
In addition to pledging his loyalty to the Catalans, Messi went on to exclaim that he would rather have made friends than enemies. The player was of the opinion that he wants to be remembered as a good person instead of a good athlete.
While talking to reporters, the 25-year-old was quoted as saying:
"I prefer winning titles with Barcelona over setting new records or winning individual trophies. I am more concerned with being a good person than with being the best player in the world. When I retire, I want to be remembered as a good guy. Scoring goals
is nice, but I also want to have made friends among the people I've played with.

"Individual awards are nice and I'm thankful for winning them. But I wouldn't have won anything without the help of my colleagues. I am fortunate to be playing for this club with all these great players. I'm just trying to help the team."
