  1. Hi.  I have one of these and it is summer here.  Growth is rampant and I will cut it back before taking it indoors for the winter.  I give it a shot of fertilizer, my favorite is liquid Schultz Plant Food Plus.  I've been doing this routine for 5 years now.  I  am sure your plant will recover nicely.  Enjoy!

  2. I'm not sure where you are that it is winter already but I don't generally prune all the way back in winter.  I don't know what type of plant that is, if it's a shrub/tree or a plant but if it is a plant you may lose it.  If, however, it is a shrub, tree or vining plant it will probably be fine dependent upon how established the root system and stalk/trunk is.  We just cut out non-blooming wisteria back and already have new shoots coming on and some very hardy trees like Hedgeapple is nearly impossible to get rid of; after someone had cut one down new shoots began cropping up from the side and I also just trimmed my overgrown shrubs that had too much old wood on them nearly to the ground a month ago and now the new growth is about two feet tall.  If it is a regular plant it may not recover as it needs leaves to absorb sunlight and releasing excess oxygen.  Hope this helps a little.

  3. you pruned a cactus so it has not leaves on it.. hmmm thats tuff. I know cactuses produces roots very fast so you can take the pruned leaves and plant it. if there is anything left you probably still have a chance. try a high nitrogen fertlizer stymulates leafy growth. do not over water it because you will make the roots rot giving it no chance. once a week is even almost pushing it. but its winter so your gonna have a hard time cause these plants have to be protected from the cold...
