I pulled the red string on my garage door. Now I cannot reconnect the garage door to the mechanism. HELP!?!?!?

Is this the cord with the k**b, and it's near the top of the door, where it connects to the track?  If so, relax.  It's easy to fix.

Get a ladder or chair or something to stand on (safely, please!) so that you can reach up to the track.  There's usually a little lever that the string attaches to.  When you pull it, it disconnects the door from the drive mechanism.  Push up on it, and it should snap into place.  

Now go push the button to open the door.  It should cycle the drive mechanism until it clips into the door.  Your door should be fine now.
