I purchased a 2 yr. old mare who has 5 foundation bloodlines.Value?

Top Deck, Mighty Deck, Top Moon are within her 6 Generations. She also has Midnight, Man O war, Leo,Three bars, Peter McCue, Joe Reed II, Chicaro, Broomstick , River Boat and many others. What is a guess on her value?

What kind of horse is she?  That would help.  I bet she is a beaut though :)  Congrats on your purchase.

well, blood dont make the horse, personality and treatment, and body make the horse, it also depends on the smartness, and how much training the animal has had, if u have urself a horseas good as man o war, or chicaro, ect, then ya  ide say pretty much valuable, but if not, maybe 20000$ or around that area

You can not base the value of a horse on their blood line! Just because a blood line is impressive doesn't mean that the horse will be. Value should be placed on conformation, tempermant, ablities (such as training), and so on...

For exsample:

1.The breeding farm I used to work at has some of the best blood lines in the industry for running qh's. But, some of the foal that came from these blood lines were not all that great. Even some of the mares they used to breed were not all that great even with great blood lines....

2. I have a mutt of a horse. He's dam was tb/perch and his sire was arab/qh. I purchase him at a local horse auction as a weanling. And he has turned out to be one of the best horses I have even seen. His conformation is right on. He's gentle and is extremly versitle.

So, just remember the names don't make the horse, the horse makes the horse.

If she is sound and has good confirmation I would price her at 8,000. I am assuming that she is un broken since you start them as a 2 year old. If She was broken and had a good handle on her i would set her at 12,000. You also need to kkep in mind that horses are cheaper than what they have been in the past now that killing on them has stopped and the market ids flooded.

If you can prove the relation to man-o-war that would be pretty impressive. Among the elites of the equestrian world, paper makes the horse, but I agree with the above poster - lineage doesn't make the horse.  build, body, training, temperment, and devlopment make the horse.
