I purchased a DVD that did not have a label on the disc. How can I find out if it is a legal copy?

The DVD is a Warner Bros. release that cost $20.99. I can't believe they would distribute plain silver disc with no label. When I tried to return it to the store, the store manager said they sometimes come without a label. I wanted to check another copy in the store, but there were no more copies.. although there were plenty when I made the purchsase.

WB releases DVDs like that so that they don't have to have a separate Disk for Widescreen and Full Screen.  One side is Full, The other is Wide...I just watched the movie Jumper today and it is like that...and every WB movie I own is like that.
