I purchased a vechicle that I want to pay insurance and get registered in my name but I do not have a driver's lic. My question is, can this be done? I would prefer to be driven than to drive myself.

  1. Yes! You would need to have an actual driver listed on your policy, because the company would not just list you since you don't have a license.  

    It's done all the time for people with disabilities.

  2. Yes.  My mother in law never had a license, but always had a car so she wouldn't "impose" on anyone.  She listed her sons as drivers.

    Talk to your insurance company about what you want to do so they can be on board since in most states you can't register without insurance.

I have never heard of a law that says, in order to get insurance and register a car, one must have a drivers license.  Drivers license are for driving, not for insuring and registering.  Think of all of the disabled people, Rich people, old people, millionaires, who choose to own, register and insure their own vehicle but do not have or want a license and want to be chauffeured instead
