  1. It usually only takes about 2 days.  When it takes longer it is usually because they are having trouble getting you qualified.  It could be due to the amount of time on your job, whether you can prove your income, your credit score is low, or the amount of the payment.  In some cases if they cannot get you qualified, they can actually tell you to bring the car back.  I would definitely be calling the dealership to find out what's up.  I sell cars, so I know this is true.  The longest I've ever seen it take to get a person qualified is one month and that is VERY rare.  Start asking them questions!  Good luck!!


  2. In most cases only one day, either your credit is questionable or the dealership is jerking you around. If you have good credit I would look into reportint the dealership to the better business bureau, they may be waiting till a special financing deal like 0% expires so the can stick you with a higher interest rate and hold points on the loan to get a kickback from the finace company.
