I purchased a new lexmark

I purchased a new lexmark 4 in 1 printer. I am running Wiondows Vista. My old printer (Lexmark) would not load properly so i had to purchase a new one. This one loaded the software and the drivers ok. The problem now is that the print spooler is off and I am unable to start it. What do I do now? Is this a Lexmark problem or Vista problem. Should I take the printer back and get another new one?
