  1. I t depends on the starting price or the price you took for the horse antepost.

If it wins a handicap race you'll get 1/4 the odds plus your win stake. ex.. if the SP is 10/1 and you've placed £1 e/w on it then if it wins you'll get £1 x 10 for the win and £1 x 10/4 for the place, so you'll get £12. 50 back plus your £2 stake.

If the horse is doesn't win and is placed you'll forfeit the win part of the bet inc. the £1 stake and get back £1 x 10/4  (£2.50 plus your £1 stake).

In a non handicap race you'll usually get 1/5 of the odds.So if your horse wins you'll get back.

    (£1 x 10) + (£1 x 10/5) = £12.00 plus your £2 stake back.

If it is just placed you'l get.

    £1 x 10/5 = £2 plus £1 back for the e/w side of your bet.

I've backed this horse for the Aintree Grand National @ 33/1 I've placed £2.50 e/w on it and I'll get back £10.75 if it is just placed and £93.25 if it wins. woo hoo! I've got a feeling it'll be taken out of the race though :-(

Alternatively here's a bet calculator http://www.ladbrokes.com/betCalculator/b... this will tell you how much you'll win. Good luck!
