Question:

I put baking soda in my pool now its all cloudy help

the pool was low on ph so I saw that it said barcarbonate soda so I figured it was the same help me now it won't clear what do I add..

  1. Genius. Try draining the pool and refilling. I'm not sure you can or should add anything.


  2. You are not supposed to put that kind of stuff in a pool

    put liquid chemicals for a pool

    but them at your nearest pool shop

    you are going to have to drain it and fill it back up

  3. Baking soda is perfectly safe to add to your pool. Sodium carbonate is used to raise pH. Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate- which is used to raise your TA. If your TA is very high it can cause cloudiness so if you put ALOT in this is your problem. Also, adding baking soda or TA increaser will temporarily cloud the water as it reacts with the water. You dont need to drain your pool just add a small amount of muriatic acid to lower the TA if the pool doesnt clear. This will also lower the pH so make sure that doesnt go too low. For everyone else out there who reads this- baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. The alkalinity increaser or alkalinity plus you buy at the pool store is the EXACT SAME THING only much more expensive. Look at the active ingredients.
