I would like to treat the grass again to prevent the weeds from taking over. Will I burn up my lawn if I do so?

  1. Weed be gone mixed double strength and sprayed directly on the weed will solve your problem..It will not kill the surrounding grass either.

  2. You may burn your lawn. The best way to remove weeds is to wet the lawn (I wait for rain) and while the ground is still wet, I simply pull the weeds up (holding firmly to the base and pulling straight up) along with the roots preventing it to come back. This is chemical free and very environmentally friendly and will not kill the grass around the area or sterilize the ground.

  3. I don't have a very high opinion of products that claim to kill weeds while fertilizing the lawn.   I think they are a waste of money.  Weed killer is a herbicide.  It will kill most plants that it can.  Nearly all, like Roundup, contain 2,4D which is a safe ingredient in consumer type weed killers. There are no known dangers according to the articles that I have read.

If you have a small lawn, you can spot spray with a small hand sprayer with Roundup directly on the weed.  If you get the spray on grass near it that will be killed also. Don't buy the pre-mix in Walmart or discount stores. Buy the concentrate and mix it stronger than the directions state.  When spraying tall weeds, you must get the spray on top to completely kill it.  Good luck.
