I put in my Sims 2 disc but the installation screen won't pop up?

I just purchased the Sims 2 apartment life expansion pack (fyi there's only one disc) and when I put the disc into my computer, the installation screen won't pop up. And you know how when you put a disc in and your computer makes all those noises like it's analyzing the disc? Well it's not doing it for this disc but when I put in another Sims 2 game it works just fine so i don't think it's my computer.

PLEASE HELP!

Try checking the disk to see if there are any scratches or smudges, clean it. Also try restarting your computer.

click on "start" and "My Computer". double click on the cd there.
