I put my 3 week notice in, but not for the real reason..?

Dilemma. I just put my 3 week notice in for school. I told my boss that I wont be able to work during the school year, and that Ill have to take a 4 month leave of absence. But its not really the truth, I still need work...I cant stand working with his wife in the kitchen. How do I make things work?

In all my years of working, I learned one fundamental basic tenet: Never ever ever work anywhere where there is family working as well, it will always be a bad atmosphere and always cause problems. You're well out of it and avoid any family c**p in future. Find another job...

Working for family businesses is tough. You don't know whom you might not get along with and then it causes all havoc or problems later on.

As they say, blood is thicker than water.

So try to find another job, but if I were you, I would also keep this job as well as finding another job. When you find that other job, then give this job's notice of leaving.
