its okay to put in a bowl... the only thing is you need to clean it every other day.

Umm...no it really isn't okay to put your betta in a bowl. Yes they may be able to live but they will probably be unhealthy and have a short life. Instead put your betta in a 2.5 gallon tank minimum with a filter (hang on back or internal kind...not underground) and a heater. This will make your fish the happiest...and the inactive, dull betta you once have will become a beautiful and active fish.

As far as names go I think you should name it liberty...since it is a patriotic name for a patriotic fish!

A betta needs a 5 gallon heated filtered tank to be healthy.  They become very lethargic in cold small spaces.
