I put sims2 deluxe on my laptop and it freeze what should i do?

i it a brand new dell inspiron 1525 i got it this week

i put sim university and deluxe it freezes when i create a family i tried to install it nd add it again and same problem idk what to do i want to play bad but i cant and i just brought these games i don't want to wast money so any thing let me know

i have 2 gb ram

is it Vista? if it is then it might not support the game.

ps: Vista sucks, because it does not support most of the Games
