  1. When you burn a CD, that's it - you can't delete off it or burn more data onto it (unless it's a CD-RW). Once it's done it's stuck.

  2. When you stored files on CD, it is all read only which means you can only copy the contents of it not to move it.After you stored the files in the CD, it will automatically make your files read only. You can just edit it (as you said non read only) if you copy it into your computer and right click the file. Click properties>general>Attributes>uncheck the read only option.click OK.

  3. You can still take the files off of the CD an onto your computer.  If a simple drag and drop won't work, hold down the Ctrl key while you drag and drop.

Once the files are on your computer, you can right click on each of them and change the attributes to clear the check box for READ ONLY.

    HTH!

  4. Once you burn a CD it is READ ONLY.  Most CDs are for single use.  Once you are done with the burn, the software closes the CD and it cannot be used again.

There are exceptions.  Some CDs can be reused.  These are RW CDS.

There is also some software that will allow you to "format" a CD and then do multiple burns to it.  But only some software does this.
