I quit walmart without a notice, what do I do about my last paycheck?

I had already gave my 2 weeks notice. And then Friday, a customer couldn't keep his hands to himself and that was the last straw. I knew it was about the 3rd or fourth worst day of the month, and the worst day was coming around the corner. I called in and quit saturday morning. What special things do I have to do before I can get my check? I supposed to pick it up tomorrow. Any help here! The only papers I've signed are the "two week notice" letter, and that's it. I want to go at like 4 or 5 am in the morning. Is that too early? any help is much appreciated.

  1. they aren't legally supposed to hold your check, but i've known employers to do it, just to be spiteful. if there are any managers you're cool with, try to go when they're working so you don't have to deal with a lot of mess. everyone knows that wal-mart is well known for high turnover, so i'm sure this situation won't be new for them to deal with.

  2. Most states have "at will" employment laws, which means you can quit your job at any time without being penalized by your employer. On the other hand, your employer can fire you at any time.

Just go in, pick up your check and leave the pit hole for good! They can't do anything about you quitting suddenly.

  3. Walmart will only give you your check early in the case of extreme emergency.  You should be able to get it any time after midnight of the day that you get paid.  You should bring all wal-mart items back to turn in but even if you don't they can't keep the check from you.

  4. Take any items that belong to Walmart, like your badge, with you when you pick up your check.  Just because you quit doesn't mean you won't get paid.  They may deduct from your last check any amounts you owe them as long as it doesn't take you below minimum wage.  Make sure they know you are picking it up otherwise, normal practice is to mail last checks for most employers.

  5. You should be able to get the money from them. On a side note, if you quit because someone "touched" you, or assaulted you, you should be able to collect unemployment insurance even though you didn't stay through the full two weeks. Unsolicited touching is absolutely prohibitive, and i would probably tell the management about that as well and demand compensation.

  6. You will want to make sure that someone is there at that time that is allowed to release your paycheck to you. You will all so need to return any uniforms or badges that you have been issued. And if you have a locker you will need to clean it out at that time as well. Good luck

  7. You will probably have to go when the main office opens where all the clerks or pay clerk is at.  Call first and ask if the check is ready, or ask that it be ready.

Have you had problems with the customers not keeping there hands to themselves before.  Have you reported this and nothing done by management.  It is the responsibility of the store to protect you from this sort of thing.  If in fact you reported this and nothing was done to the customer and it happened again, then you have grounds for legal action against the store.  I know,  something had happened to me like that and I would report it and nothing was done.  When I had enough I told a labor relations person and they brought an action against the store.  It's not your fault.

  8. just go and get the check..they cant legally keep it from u..they like to get 2 weeks notice but its not illegal to quit without notice
