well i do have a poem. and i was wondering if this was too long.

Love Ruled the day when the angels came to meet

Sweeping them up and off of their feet

Neither of them knowing what the future would bring

Two hearts together and one diamond ring

Today it's a promise, so sweet and so pure

Together forever, for love shall endure

A blessing from above, this sotry is told

A love to last a lifetime and a hand to hold

It was no accident that this came to be

Now you must realize that it really takes three

So, Go hand and hand to a future unkown

Knowing that with the lord, you will never be alone

WIth the angels stillnear and dear to the heart

This couple shall prosper and never grow apart

For it's not always the eye that is the first to see

What really matters in life and what is meant to be

So remember that to love is time well spent

And what brought you two together was heaven sent.

how should i start it

ive only been to 1 weding so how is it done?

please help

  1. I don't think it's too long, but i think a toast at a wedding should be personal. Like at my step-brother's wedding, a lot of people said funny stories about that and one group made a rap about their history. like how they were in high school, and how the bride had a perm.. a bad one. i dunno.

    the poem is beautiful. but you should make your toast about what you think about their marriage now and what you loved about your aunt;

  2. You might start by saying:

"My name is (you) and my dear aunt has offered me the honor of preparing a toast for this, her very wonderful wedding day.  First, thank you all for coming to celebrate with our family.  I love my aunt, and truly appreciate you all attending today to watch her become one with (husband's full name) in this blessed union.  I have prepared a poem in light of this wonderful opportunity, and I will read it now.  I hope you enjoy it."

After it ends, thank everyone there for their time and graciousness.  Tell your Aunt you love her, and congratulate the two of them once more.  At that point, fold your paper and everyone will clap.

Congratulations on such a wonderful opportunity.  Your Aunt must love you a lot.  Your poem is beautiful, and I'm sure she will love it.

  3. I think the poem is beautiful.  Maybe say, "I just want to say Congratulations and I wrote this poem in honor of your day. . . "

I don't think it's too long.  People talk forever at weddings during toasts.  It's your time so . . . do what you want.

  4. Love your poem!!!

the only wedding i remember was mine and i wasnt really paying atenchin :P

  5. for a toast.. maybe it might be a little too long.

i think it should just be just the first stanza, and that would be enough.

  6. Only using the first part of the 3 parts of the poem would be nice.

I have no clue how to start and I don't know how its done.

  7. just say what you mean and how much she means to you. the poem is lovely

  8. well first ask your aunt if the people are comming have patience for the whole poem if not read the first verse that one is the one i like remember to read the poem slowly so you show emotion to it

and to let them know youre done with the toast just say

"so to a wonderful marrige, and a good life" or something like that to let them know

    have fun :]

  9. How about something more simple.

(Bride's name), I am proud that you have has asked me toast you...I am so honored to be sharing this day with you. Starting today, you will begin to share a life with (groom's name), but remember that I will always love you and  be here for you . Here’s to your new life and my new uncle!
