  1. It's on the slower side.

You probably want to get it down to around 9-10, since you're a girl.

I'm 16, a guy, 160, and they say a 9 minute mile for me is slow.  I've gotten mine down to 8.30.  ;)

  2. Very slow.  My 13 yr old daughter runs a mile in 6 minutes.

  3. people will answer very mean to this question. this answer depends on what you mean by slow. if its your first mile ever, not bad.

with proper training, and at your age... you can improve this very quickly.

the world record is 3 mins 43seconds , or so.

as for fast, most people can do 7-9 min miles.

but are you female or male? males can and are faster, but thats inherent to strength etc....

dont be discouraged by negative answers, very little training can improve that greatly, but that time should be your 1.5 mile... good luck :D

  4. yeah that's fairly slow. someone who runs on a track team can run a mile in six minutes. you were running about 3.5 mph, which is a pace that many people can walk at!

but honestly, im not trying to be mean, i don't judge you. running's a rough thing specially if you aren't used to it. just giving you the stats.

  5. That's slow, unless you were going for a slow jog. I'm a very slow runner but my time is 8 minutes.

  6. if you dont run a lot that is good! keep practicing and your times will improve as your endurance improves

  7. yepp

but if you aren't like running for track/cross country/outdoor track don't worry about it

  8. It's slow. If you run a lot you can reduce it to 8 or lower if you're really into it.

  9. i could walk a mile by that time LOL

  10. slower than average.

  11. Sorry it is slow.I'm slow too around a 10/11 min. mile but your young and thin so with some practice you can run faster in no time.

  12. im 14 and my fastest mile was 7min12 (aged 11)

but its only gone downhill from there..

it really depends, was it on track or on concrete, flat or hilly

  13. It's a good start, but keep trying and see if you can pull that down around 8 min.

  14. Well... that's pretty slow, but that leaves a lot of room for improvement. The average 12-15 year old runs somewhere between  7-8 minutes. So keep practicing.

  15. yeahh sry that's pretty slow b/c the max you can get in my gym class is 15 min. and to get on the field hockey team you need under 8 at least but just work on it u'll get faster ;]

  16. Slow. I am a bad long distance runner am the same height and 125 pounds and I can run it in 7 minutes 36 seconds.

  17. This a horrible time for your age if you run track or cross country. The slowest female distance runner i've seen ran 8:30. If you were just jogging and don't run competitively it's not that bad.
