I ran into my first problem with installing a new stereo with a pioneer and the original can anyone help?

i have an 87 calais that im trying to install a new stereo in for my son and i have run into problems with this one. i have successfully installed a few but some of the factory connections on the car are alot different and i can't get power. im sure it has something to do with the battery wire and one other wire i can't figure out. i really need a wiring diagram of the original stereo can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks very much!

  2. You dont need to use the original wiring. If it's too confusing, leave it alone and run new wires. All you need to do is run the power for the radio to a switched key power fuse in the fuse box, and the yellow wire from your radio to a fuse thats always powered, thats the memory wire, to remember settings and presets, then the black, (Ground) just need to be connected to some part of the car which is metal.
