I ran out of lexapro, how do I get it refilled while I wait for my next prescription?

I ran out of lexapro yesterday, and I won't be able to get a prescription until at least 4 days from now, is there a way I can get a temporary refill at the pharmacy?

some pharmacies will give you an emergency supply to hold you over until your doctor gets back to the pharmacy with refills...but only if its a maintenance medication...just ask the pharmacist...Im sure he/she will be willing to help...

If you have gotten filled at my pharmacy several times before, I would consider giving an emergency fill.  However, those pills will be taken out of your next refill.  I'll only give you 3 or 4 at a time.

call your doctor and tell them that you need those extra pills. and have them fax your pharmacy.
