I ran over a plastic bucket with my car? What should I check for?

I was going about 60 mph on the freeway and a plastic bucket went through underneath my car? I did a quick visual check underneath and I found no broken things or leaks. The car is running fine (no funny noises). Do I need to bring it into a shop. I drive a Saturn VUE, 4 wheel drive.

  1. I hope you checked to make sure the plastic bucket was

    dead before you left it.

  2. Just check for leaking like you did. But the undercarriage should be tuff enough to protect it from a plastic bucket. Plus the Vue is higher up so it probably didn't do anything.  Just keep an eye on it for a couple days but no I don't think you need to take it in.

  3. Take to a shop and let them put it up on a lift for you so that you can make sure that nothing was damaged like the cv joint boots and so on.
