  1. 14 year old girl?

    YES thats a good time.

    Keep training so you can shine when you get into high school.

  2. ok...keep running tho...you will never be over weight

  3. my PR in middle school was 6:24, and I usually took first or second;

    so 6:28 sounds pretty awesome.

    running is different from any other sport, because the only thing thats ever in your way is your own weakness. theres always room for improvement, you can always push yourself harder and get better. keep on running =]

  4. Six and a half minutes is a good time for the mile run for anyone, regardless of gender or age. I couldn't do it in less than 12 minutes myself. Keep up the good work, and you should be able to find scholarship money from a college of good quality. Many schools have very good track and field teams.

  5. Here is some positive insight for you:

    I didn't like to run (not hate... just didn't like doing it) in middle school and my personal best was 7:30.

    My first year in high school, the coach convinced me to join the XC Runing team and I practiced with them. My first mile race a month in was 6:02. The next week in gym, I dropped it to 5:54. Now my record is 5:36.

    For your first race, it's more of a matter of seeing what you can do with your new found strength and endurance. Now that you've experienced that, you should start to see your PR go down fairly quickly.
