I read a book in the 70's ...?

It was a funny, campy little paperback about a family reunion in New England somewhere. They had a big old family house and on the 4th of July it all went up in smoke from a lame firework display. They had been wealthy folks, now down on their luck. Very cleverly written and humorous throughout. I's like to read it again!! Can anyone help??
